In term 1 of year 1 on Norwich University of the Arts’ BA Architecture course students were asked to investigate the interconnected dimensions of craftsmanship and architecture by understanding the spatial complexity at different scales, from their own room to the city. Within a cube of 3000 x 3000 x 3000mm, students were asked to design their box of miracles: an ideal space for sleep, bathing and study. The presented plaster models are a result of this exercise.
Through a series of photographs, the plaster models exemplify the relationship between the element and the collective. This visual research documents the relationship between Pattern/Chaos, Light/Shadow and Interior/Exterior.
